Wow, what a weekend.....From the Black tie Gala on Sat. night to the Columbus Day Parade on Monday, the Columbus Citizens Foundation does everything First Class!!

Mr. & Mrs. Greg F. and Lou D

By way of background, the Columbus Citizens Foundation ("CCF") is one of the country's premier Italian American Organizations with its main objective to raise money for families and children who have the desire and capacity for a first class education but not the financial wherewithal. With over 600 members and a privately owned townhouse on the corner of East 69th and 5th Ave, the CCF and its many members assist in raising money for education, as well as support a number of worthwhile objectives. The CCF continues to shepard the cause for italian americans everywhere and has been known to support a number of other missions that italian americans are quite passionate about:

  • Has fought and lobbied against degrading TV shows such as Jersey Shore and Sopranos;
  • Has provided monetary assistance to the earthquake victims in L'Aquila Italy;
  • Has supported the military; &
  • Many other charitable causes.

This year's Black Tie Gala, the CCF's signature event and biggest fundraiser of the year, featured Maria Bartiromo, a long-standing member and contributor of the CCF as its honoree and Parade Grand Marshal. This honor which was bestowed on Maria was a long time in the making and I am glad I was able to see and be part of the incredible celebration.

My wife and I and all of our guests really had a tremendous time at the gala and we look forward to participating and being involved with the foundation and its many events for years to come. For more information regarding the foundation click here for their website.

I am proud and blessed to be a member and involved with a great charity and even greater members. I have included pictures from both the gala and the columbus day parade below. Enjoy!

All the best, Lou D'Agostino
